Who are you? Tell us a little about yourself? Maybe something that would surprise us :)
I was born in El Salvador and moved to Houston with my Mom and younger sister when I was 16 years old. It was challenging at first, leaving friends and family behind but we overcame the obstacles and we’re quite satisfied with how our lives have turned out. One of the things I brought with me from El Salvador is my love of nature and being in the outdoors. I enjoy hiking, horseback riding, gardening and spending time with my family and walking with my 2 German Shepherds (Shadow and Enzo). How long have you been a Behemoth member and how did you hear about us?
I first heard about Behemoth online and it’s been 4 years now. Previously I was going to a boot camp gym however I felt I wasn’t getting what I needed to improve; so, I started looking for a more positive-based and a gym that cared about my safety and well-being while working out, and I found that at Behemoth. What are some of your proudest accomplishments since starting with us? (this can be physical, mental, emotional, don’t just think inside the gym, this can be anything you truly feel great about!)
At Behemoth, I’ve learned to trust my body more and incorporate healthier movements throughout the day. I’ve also become much stronger and really enjoy lifting. And… I no longer hate running (as much).Talk a little bit about your journey, who were you or what were you struggling with before starting with Behemoth and who are you now since being a part of this gym culture and community?
I’ve been athletic from an early age (6 yrs old) running, swimming, climbing and then involved in organized sports once I was of age. I was a starting guard in our high school basketball team and with pride I can say we earned a lot of acclaim locally. I’ve since played co-ed softball in the Houston leagues and then started going to gyms to keep in shape. Since I’ve joined Behemoth, I feel like I am a part of community who share the same goals (in fitness and life in general). The 5am group has been really supportive and encouraging in my journey towards better well-being.What is your favorite part about Behemoth and what keeps you coming back?
My favorite part of Behemoth are the coaches and their positive engagement with the members. What is one piece of advice you’d give to someone just starting out with Behemoth or maybe hesitant in starting out?
I’m going to sound like a Nike commercial, but… JUST DO IT! My advice would be to trust the coaches, they will ensure you exercise correctly and safely. You will not regret it; this is a top-notch gym. You will benefit from the well-designed workouts, and you will be surrounded by excellent coaching staff and an amazing community of gym members.Behemoth Mad Lib
