Arinola is our I AM BSHEmoth for the month of April! Arinola has the "be seen and not heard" mentality and consistently comes in, works hard and leaves everyone inspired by her capabilities. As fun as it is to push her to heavier, harder and higher levels, she is always up for the challenge and her progress since beginning her journey at Behemoth has been nothing short of awesome! Read more about her below:Who are you? Tell us a little about yourself or something that would surprise us.I am a daughter, sister (oldest and shortest of 5) and a wife. Born in Nigeria but lived in London, New Orleans and finally settled in Texas. I went to Texas A&M where I studied Chemical Engineering and currently work in the oil and gas industry. I love to travel and I am always down for a vacation. I also enjoy frequenting the mall and brunching my way through Houston. How and when were you introduced to Behemoth? I started Crossfit three years ago when I moved to Midland. When I moved back to the Houston, I started at another gym but was thinking about switching because crossing over Barker Cypress and 290 at 5pm wasn’t cutting it anymore. Around the same time, the gym I was going to was closing down and Behemoth was one of the recommended gyms in the area. I researched Behemoth before then and decided to give it a try and I’ve been here ever since. What are you most proud of, physically, mentally or both since beginning with us?Getting pull-ups and pushing myself out of my comfort zone. Also, during my first class, Aja told me if I jumped a little bit higher I could do double unders which I ended up doing. Why Behemoth? The coaching is definitely the best I’ve experienced and I can see the results. Also, certain coaches (**cough** Leah) insist I add my more weight to the already heavy barbell. Finally, the community at Behemoth - everyone goes out of their way to help out and is friendly, even those that give me a hard time! What next? What are you excited about pursuing here in the future? Working on handstand push-ups, getting better at the gymnastic movements and getting stronger.“3, 2, 1…Go” Mad Lib sectionMy favorite lift (movement) is…CleansMy most frequent class I come to is… Loyal 6PMerI have always wanted to… Run a marathon, but I’ll aim for a half right now. When I’m not crushing weights, my favorite thing to do is… Sleep: I have marathon sleep dates and watching numerous shows on TV and Netflix.Favorite “application of fitness” outside of the gym is… Running numerous 10k's races; I recently just did the Spartan RunFavorite Pandora station… 90s Hip Hop and PopBeast mode engaged when this song comes on… Anything by old school Kanye West before he went weird.
