Who are you? Tell us a little about yourself or something that would surprise us.
Good question, one that I don’t really know how to answer. And it’s because each day presents me with something that makes me realize I am likely still figuring out who I am…And I collect comic books.
How and when were you introduced to Behemoth?
Almost 4 years ago: I started talking to a friend of mine, who did CrossFit, and told him my main obstacle to try it was the time I could work out, which was 5AM. And it had to be on my way to work…He knew right off that Behemoth offered a 5AM class, he knew how good Aja and Aryan were and highly recommended I try Behemoth .…Boom -done.
What are you most proud of, physically, mentally or both since beginning with us?
Physically, it was my 305lb deadlift. Mentally, ummm , my 305lb deadlift. Because this was post a back injury.
What has been your biggest, yet most rewarding obstacle to overcome, whether in the gym or on your health journey to date?
Making it through TOS (Thoracic Outlet Syndrome). For three years, I had unrelenting pain down my right arm. I was misdiagnosed several times, leading to unneeded surgeries and rehab. Those three years were the worst of my life. I was in constant pain. I could not throw a ball to my kids, lift a wgt, or do much of anything. On pain meds, etc. etc. I finally was able to diagnose myself through the magic of the internet!! I asked the doctor to test me for TOS, skip to, having my top rib removed and have been good ever since!
Why Behemoth?
The coaches. The knowledge they have and are so willing to pass on to us, is nothing short of awesome. I have learned a lot from all of them.
What next?
What are you excited about pursuing here in the future?
I am always pursuing consistency. i.e. my diet… I wish I wasn’t, but I am easily thrown off my healthy habits. Looking at you Girl Scout cookies! So I need to get that on track.
